Obituary of Edward "Ed" Cinkant

Peacefully at Arnprior & District Memorial Hospital on Friday April 21, 2017, Edward Cinkant of Arnprior, Ontario, Beloved spouse for over 56 years of Joan (Branch), who predeceased him in June 2005; loving father of Terri (Jim Cheeseman), Cathie (Doug Wheeler), Penny, Kristie (Greg Stewart) and Andy (Cindy Adam). Dear grandfather of Kelly, Kerri, Trevor, Erica, Andrew, Joanna, Wesley, David, France, Celine, and Brandon; great-grandfather of Quinn, Shae, Eoin, Georgia, Maeson, Taylor, Callie, Savannah and Granger. Survived by his brothers Harry, Bob and Tony and his sister Margo (Thomson); predeceased by parents Margret (Sabolch) and Coleman; his brother George and his sister Catherine (Steele).

Ed had a long and fruitful life where he served his community tirelessly, first as a ten year veteran of the Ottawa Police force; as a business proprietor running a painting and decorating business with his brother Bob for over 15 years; as an instructor in the painting apprenticeship program at Algonquin College and then in retirement as a councillor on the Lanark Township Council for a number of years. Through it all he was a very active Life Member of the Lions Club (Ottawa West, Arnprior and Renfrew).

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. John Chrysostom Church, Albert St. Arnprior, Friday, May 12th at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow in the church hall. Donations to the Arnprior & District Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
