My condolences to all the family. When Neeve and Lila were little we would visit Tom and Phil almost daily. The jellybean machine was always full and lots of treats always handed out. I have sat for hours and listened to Toms stories about his childhood and his working days. He was a kind, smart and funny man. I will forever cherish all those memories.

I met Tommy when I started working for E.B. Eddy in 1960. He was the superintendent of the Sulphite Mill. Drank many beers with Tom at the Old Viger Tavern in Hull. Visited him a couple of times with Chuck Murphy up in Calabogie. Tommy was a good man and comical as old hell. Lots of laughs when he was around.

It broke my heart when I heard the news this past Friday and I want to send my deepest condolences to the Higgins family. Mr. H. and I spent a lot of time together when I was growing up in Springtown - he was like my adopted Grandfather. Each morning before school I would bring him his newspaper and we would chat at the kitchen table. There was always a good joke to start the day off right and he would always also impart some sort of wisdom or lesson for me to think about it. He played a significant role in who I have become and I cherish our last visit together this past summer. Growing up we spent time fishing, building his garage, making his famous white driveway and again, there was never a shortage of laughter. I miss him dearly and words will never capture how much he meant to me.

So sorry for your loss. My memories are from many years ago growing up on St. Louis Street in Hull. Spent a lot of time listening to Tommy’s stories and jokes. Lots of laughs as Phil and Tommy came over to play cards with mom and dad (Joan and Joe).
With Sympathy,
Carolyn O’Meara

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Growing up as neighbours with Tommy and Phil who were my parent’s closest friends, has left me some of the best memories. Tommy was quite the character! He had the greatest laugh and the friendliest smile!!

Deepest sympathies to Aunt Phil and all of his sons and their families. It's been a long time since I've seen Uncle Tommy, I remember he always used to make me rice crispies with bananas in the morning, his deep laugh, and thier loving obedient dog Hidey. He will be missed. Charlene and Gary MacAskill

Mourning the passing of my 91year old former father in law...Tommy Higgins
When I think of Tommy, I will always remember his stories and jokes that he would whisper in my ear...I would start laughing through the funny lines cause he would be chuckling ahead of the punchline...I loved to hear about his East coast upbringing having grown up in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton...He was so proud of his home he built himself in Calabogie. Tommy was married over 68years to Philomena and had a wonderful life and will be missed...
