T.J. worked with me for 3 summers planting seedlings and digging up bigger trees in my tree nursery, starting when he was 16. He loved the hard work and how it made him stronger. When there was a tough job to do, he was always willing to help. He was also generous and funny. Life is not fair and his loss only reminds us of that unfortunate truth.

TJ was a great outdoorsman from a very early age, and his passion would shine through with his kindness and dedication to what he loved most. He taught me how to shoot a bow and arrow and how to fish with frogs. His smile was genuine and I’ll never forget his deep love for grandma. Rest easy TJ.

When thinking of T.J. we picture his grin and sense of humour that I have no doubt he gets from his Dad. We think of his kindness especially with his Gramma Hazen. His love of the outdoors, fishing and hunting. It is tragic that he is taken too soon. Hopefully he is meeting Grampa and Gramma Hazen, and Grampa and Gramma Rodden.

As I wrote to Fairhaven staff yesterday, I'm sure there couldn't be a more supportive, loving or devoted Mom than you Betty. Anybody who knows you could say that, not matter what you were talking about, there was always such a gleam in your eyes when you spoke of him. I love the stories of you arriving home to notice groceries missing only to find out that he had taken them to the Mission downtown. Helping others that truly needed helping, putting others before himself; apples can't fall very far from the tree.
