One of my fondest memories of my Mom is from my childhood. My Mom was a baker and on Saturday she spent her day baking goodies for the week. She would usually make cookies, some kind of pie or cake, butter tarts, date squares and so much more. I would like to think I was helping her as I licked the beaters after mixing up a batch of something. She was the pie lady! She taught me how to roll pastry and make pies just the way she did. I now make pies and every time I take my rolling pin to roll out the pastry I think of her.
My brothers and I were very blessed to have such a wonderful Mother in our lives. She will be missed. Rest In Peace Mom.
