I first met Mr. Ruddy when I worked at the Bonnechere Bakery. At that time it was located on the corner of Raglan and Prince. He would ride his bicycle to the store, find his favorite table in the corner, read a newspaper or book and have his tea. He was always a gentleman. Anyone who knew him recalls his mannerism and his quiet demeanor. He had his professional air about him. Eventually he would be the one to initiate a conversation. One day he inquired about my goals. When he discovered my ambitions he was always generous with a contribution to my cause, the RVH Foundation. As a loyal supporter of the RVH Mr. Ruddy always made certain that I would reach my fundraising goal. I never expected it, nor did I ever approach him regarding the subject. He would just voluntarily hand me an envelope. A very interesting and kind man. A discreet philanthropist. I offer my condolences to Minnie and family, friends, and colleagues. Gone prematurely he will be missed but his contribution to our community lives on. RIP

Shauna, all the grandchildren and Mr. Ruddy's entire family and friends. I am very sorry for the loss of your father, grandfather, husband, brother and friend. Though I didn't know him I understand the loss of a father's love and that special sharing only a grandfather can provide.
Thinking of you xxx

I’ll never forget you poppa Brian. Thank you for the amazing memories like taking me for my G1 license and teaching me how to drive, taking me for motorcycle rides, coming to my hockey and soccer games, talking with me about travelling and bringing us king burger countless times. Thank you for all the laughs and for being such a great role model for us. And finally, thank you for being such a loving dad to my Mom. I’ll never forget your voice (beautiful darlin’) Xo. Love Bethy.

We were sorry to hear about Brian’s passing. Brian and I became friends many years ago when Brian and I (Larry), started doing weekly pick ups of food donations for the Renfrew Food Bank. We did our pick-ups every Monday morning and then would head over to Tim Horton’s for coffee afterwords. Brian was a very dedicated volunteer with the Food Bank. I considered Brian a good friend and will miss him. Larry and Rita Holden

Dear Aunt Minnie and the rest of the Ruddy Family,
I am thinking about all of you right now and how heartbroken you must be. Uncle Brian meant so much to so many people because of his warmth and generosity, as well as his great sense of humor and adventure. I will always think of him cruising around on his motorcycle, my favorite thing about him. Like Katie, my best memory is going for my first ever motorcycle ride with Uncle Brian. It's still so vivid because it was such a rush, but I also remember feeling safe because Uncle Brian always knew what he was doing on a bike.
He will be deeply missed. Love to all of you.xoxo Pippa

MY CONDOLENCES TO MINNIE AND TO BRIAN’S EXTENDED FAMILY.
Brian and I grew up together and were childhood friends. We lost touch for some time but in recent years connected and enjoyed each other’s company! Thanks to Minnie we spoke very recently.
Brian was a very curious, intelligent and adventurous individual. We will miss him and his special uncommon sense.

Uncle Brian was such a great man - he will always hold a special place in my heart and in my father's (Steve).
Aunt Minnie, and the rest of my Ruddy family - my love and thoughts and prayers are going out to you all. I'm thinking of you all during this difficult time.
My favorite memory of my Uncle Brian would have to be when he brought his motorcycle to our home in Calgary and Pippa and I went for our first motorcycle rides around on it with him! What fun! It still brings a smile to my face thinking about that summer!
With great sympathy,
Katie Ruddy

So sorry to hear about Brian. You are not the first ones to lose a brother/husband but the first to lose YOUR brother/ husband so please accept my sincere condolences. I remember that he used to love to tease quite a bit and had a great sense of humour. You all have wonderful memories of Brian...may they give you comfort in the days ahead. Take care and know that many others are thinking of you at this sad time.
