Obituary of Dorian L. Heins Laurier

Retired Clerk Town of Renfrew After a long and beautiful life Dorian passed away peacefully at the Bonnechere Manor and went on to her heavenly home. Reunited again with her loving husband Larry Laurier (2002). Predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Emma Heins, as well as her 3 brothers and their wives, Earl and Delauris, Sunny and Gladys and Eddie. Also waiting for her in heaven is her chosen daughter Fay Laurier and her Grandson Ryan Laurier. Loving Mother to her only child Rick Laurier (Lesley). Amazing, caring and always indulgent Grandma of Sarah Boyer (Steve), Jason and Matthew Laurier. Very proud Great-Grandma of Anna, Stella and Corbin. Dorian also leaves behind her Sister-in-Law Eleanor Heins, as well as many very special nieces and nephews who absolutely meant the world to her. Dorian was a very proud citizen of the Town of Renfrew for whom she was a long time employee, ending her tenure after almost 40 years as Town Clerk. She was a faithful and devoted member of The Renfrew Baptist Church and had an unshakeable faith in God. Throughout her life she spent many of her happiest times at church surrounded by the love of her family and so many special friends. Being kind, patient and generous came effortlessly to Dorian and she loved freely and wholeheartedly. Those she loved were absolutely perfect in her eyes and she always had complete faith that you could do anything. She was endlessly encouraging, supportive and always there when you needed her. She was an amazing cook and nothing made her happier than feeding the people she loved and cared about. There was always an extra chair (or 2 or 3...) at her dinner table. She didn't need a reason or occasion to send you a little gift, a thoughtful card, or to bake you your favourite treat, she just went ahead and did it because she cared. She had a natural talent for making people feel special and she was an eternal optimist who always saw the very best in those around her. With her love she certainly left this world a better place. The entire family would like to give a sincere and heartfelt thank you to the amazing team of people at the Bonnechere Manor. The care, love, patience and support shown to Dorian, and us, over the years and especially the past 2 weeks is more than anyone could have asked for. The level of professionalism, support and genuine compassion made a very hard time a little easier. A very special Thank You to Joan Gillan for being such a wonderful caregiver and friend to Dorian, you truly are an angel. Respecting Dorians wishes cremation has taken place and due to COVID-19 restrictions a private graveside service will be taking place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please consider making a donation to either the Renfrew & District Food Bank or to the Bonnechere Manor Foundation - Butterfly Project ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I Am With You Still I give this one thought to keep I am with you still-do not weep. I am a thousand winds that blows. I am the diamond glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night Do not think of me as gone - I am with you still-in each new dawn.
