Obituary of Michael Edward Colterman

On Wednesday November 10th, 2021 we lost a kind and gentle soul, loving son, brother and uncle. Michael fought an unbelievable fight and overcame unsurmountable odds after suffering with cancer for more than 12 years. Michael is survived by his loving parents James and Pat (nee Kuiken), his sister Lisa (Wayne Boulton) and his nephew Patrick and his niece Samantha who he loved dearly. He will be sadly missed by his dog Maddie or as he used to say “Michael’s blond”. Michael loved his large and supportive family especially his aunts and uncles; late Robert (Marion ), Agnes (late Earl Bridge), Teresa (Bruce Connaughan), Cecilia (Len Pickell), Marilyn Riopelle, Mary (late Bud), Peter (Karen), Diana (Stan Karson), Dorothy (Doug McArthur), Catherine Kuiken and Clarence (Debbie). He will be fondly remembered by his many cousins and friends. Michael was predeceased by his grandparents Lucy and Robert Colterman and Ysbrand and Aaltje Kuiken. Michael had a great love for everything Nascar and had an opportunity to drive in a mustang at Calabogie race track with a professional driver, that experience was one of the best memories that he had. He also enjoyed watching hockey and when he was feeling up to it, enjoyed travelling around the county to geocache. His family and friends will miss him tremendously. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the DACA Centre on Friday November 19th from 1-3pm and 6-8 pm. Please note that the DACA Centre requires proof of double vaccination to attend the visitation. A private Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Mount St. Patrick. A recording of the Mass will be available on the funeral home website following the Mass on Saturday November 20th after 5pm. Interment Holywell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice Renfrew or the Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Online condolences/donations may be made at www.gouletfuneralhome.com
