I had the pleasure of speaking to Nelson in the course of my volunteer work reaching out to people in the community during COVID-19. I spoke to Nelson several times a week and I enjoyed our conversations very much. He told me many stories of growing up and we shared a love for nature. Nelson was always very pleasant and kind, he spoke often of his love for his children, and he had the wisdom that only comes from the older ones of the community. I will miss talking to him, and most of all, miss his laugh!

I am so saddened to hear of Nelson's passing, or as I know him more as the wonderful "Fred" I have so many fun memories of seeing him when visiting Carol and Jack. A true gentleman, a great sense of humour and loads of fun. Always always with that twinkle in his eyes. He will be sorely missed and my sincere condolences to all his family. Sandra xo
