Obituary of James "Jim" Pastway

After an extraordinary effort on the part of firefighters, Jim passed at the age of 81 on his beloved family homestead. Jim worked for many years at Canadian Tire as a parts manager. He was well known for "if you need it, I have it, or I can make it". He was a great mechanic and later on did his part keeping tons of scrap metal out of our landfills. Lover of collectibles. Jim was always up for a game of cards with his friends or family. When not playing cards you could find him working on many puzzles. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Tania Durand (Jason), and son David Pastway (Stacy). Loving Grandpa J to Adley. Brother of Margaret (late Roger Potvin), T.J. (Gail), Evelyn (late Frank Collins) and Arnold. Predeceased by his brother Edmund. Jim will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Please join the family for a Celebration of Life on Saturday May 14th from 10:30 am-3:00 pm at the Horton Community Center. Donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Ottawa Civic Hospital Foundation.
