Deepest condolences to Opal’s family and friends. She was a lovely and joyful person who contributed much to many. Through her work at the Manor, in her community, and was a dedicated volunteer within the Senior Support Program. Always was ready for fun and a laugh. And now she joins her partner in crime, her loving husband Charlie and those friends and family who have been waiting for her. RIP Opal. And thank you

Aunt Opal was my dad’s younger sister. She was a great aunt. Gave great hugs. I will always family meals at the house on the river, first the little house then the big house. I enjoyed my visits with her when I was home from university or after I moved out west. I remember the Friday nights when I was a kid of my parents and Aunt Opal and Uncle Charlie playing euchre. The banging on the table as the hands were laid down. She was the last of a great generation of Matawatchan Wilson’s. There were always the quick stops at our house after a shift on Thanksgiving or Christmas for some of dad’s turkey and dressing, of course there was always a need to make sure there was ketchup. She’s now with all of the Wilson’s making pot pie, macaroni and cheese (Wilson style). I was happy to have two great visits last month along with Bonnie. I loved to see she still had her sense of humour and enjoyed a good joke. I’ll always remember her impish laugh, great hugs and big Wilson smootches. Rest In Peace Auntie. Say hi to mom and dad and uncle Charlie.

I had the privilege to get to know, and love opal. Opal is one of the kindest, most loving woman I’ve ever met. As is her daughter Bonnie. I am so fortunate that I got to make many great memories with opal. We shared so many laughs together, wether it was when I was selling her chocolate bars off the tuck shop cart, or when I would paint her nails once a week (always in red) or when she could never decide what desert she wanted for supper ( so she got both). Opal will be so missed by so many people. ❤️ Sending love to bonnie and her family
