Mr. Fortier was a great guy. He was my machine shop teacher and I also hung out with his two sons, Mike and Larry when they moved into out neighborhood back in the 60's. We had a splendid time with the Fortier family. Mrs. Fortier would always tease me about my unusual dress but he was just funning with me. I remember one time I went to Centre side dairy to get a cone and she was there with two other ladies. Mrs. Fortier said, Steve, where did you get those bright yellow sneakers? I relied, Oh, I just got those to go along with the yellow silo we just painted, she just shook her had and laughed. She was a lovely woman. Ed was a super cool guy and his two sons were good friends to us all in Aberdeen park in Renfrew. God Bless You Mrs. and Mr. Fortier. Your friend, Steve

My condolences on your loss,
Mr. Fortier was a kind and patient man.
He taught me wood joinery which came in handy when I assembled a bookcase in his class.
I still have that bookcase.

Hi Mike and Larry and family, my sincere sympathy regarding your Dad's passing, but he lived a good long life; i recall playing Oldtimer Hockey with him and he certainly held his own in that sport. Treasure the fact that you had him with you on this earth for all the years you did.. Best regards to all of you.

Joe and I only met Ed one time, at Christine and Paul's wedding, and found him to be a real gentleman. We have heard lots of family stories from Paul about his family, especially the hunting trips. Ed will be missed by his family and all that knew him. Sorry that we won't get to met with him again. Joe and Kassy Sestak

To Mike, Larry and Paul and families. When we first moved to Renfrew to teach and nurse in 1966, Ed and Marg took us newlyweds under their wings and kindly befriended us. They were really our best friends along with the Humes for the three years that we spent in Renfrew, and we continued to stay in touch for the next 55 years until today, when Mike called to tell us the sad news of Ed’s passing. Ed had a wonderful life, and we were better people for knowing him.
Please accept our most sincere condolences and good thoughts about Ed’s passing. We are so grateful, yet sad about the passing of a great friend.

I offer my condolences to the family of ED Fortier
I met ED playing old timer hockey and became good friends
Enjoyed many years playing and doing tournaments
I also did work for him at farm and new home he built when he was about 80
He brewed his own beer and I helped test it
If he adhered to the beer rules of today he might have lived a lot longer
REST IN PEACE ED
