Obituary of Raymond Redshaw

Two days prior to his 92nd birthday, Raymond passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Calabogie, ON.  He leaves behind his loving wife of 69 years, Miriam.  Also his daughter Judith (Mark).  He adored his two grandchildren Stephanie (Gord), and André.  Great granddaughter Annabel brought a sparkle to his eye.

Raymond fell in love with cars as a young boy in England.  He could fix anything that had a gasoline engine!  He and Miriam came to Canada in 1955 and Raymond's career as one of Ottawa's best British car mechanics began.  He was the original owner of Redshaw Auto Care.  In his retirement years he rebuilt and refurbished a 1962 Jaguar Mark II. He and Miriam travelled to many car shows and won many trophies including the Best of Show at the 2006 British Invasion Concours d'Elegance in 2006.

He and Miriam also enjoyed many years as snowbirds in Avon Park, Florida.  They enjoyed the sunshine and golfing.  Along the way the made many treasured friends.  They said it takes a village to raise a child.  The people of Calabogie showed Raymond and Miriam that this is also true when people need help as their health fails,  There are so many who provided love and support.  Please forgive if we have not mentioned all of your names. Your names are in our hearts and prayers.  There will be no visitation.  A Celebration of Life is to be planned at a later date.  If you wish to make a memorial donation, please consider the Renfrew Victoria Hospital or Calabogie Home Support
