Obituary of Al Comba

With sadness, yet thankful for a life well lived, that we announce the passing of our dear Al, age 83 years, on Friday August 11, 2023 at the Ottawa Heart Institute, with family by his side. Al is survived b his loving wife of 24 years, Sandra Comba (Panesar).  He was born in Renfrew, the only child of the late Delbert and late Marian Comba. Al was loved deeply by Sandra’s two children, Sheena Dahl (Eyvind)  and Shawn Panesar (Wendy), both deceased.  He loved his life in Sudbury, married to Patricia Comba (Myles) who passed away in 1994, after life together for 26 years. He enjoyed his career with the Ministry of Transportation in Sudbury for 40 years, attaining the the title of Senior Municipal Supervisor. Al returned to Renfrew for a school reunion where he was reunited with a childhood friend, Sandra (Pender) Panesar and they married shortly thereafter. Papa Al leaves behind four grandchildren who loved him dearly, Kauri Dahl (Joe Graham), Bennett Panesar (Janie Kauffeldt), Asha & Lura Panesar and 2 stepchildren, Skylar Kluke (Megan) and Emma Kluke. Al was a member of Trinity St.Andrew’s United Church and was involved with many projects in the church, recently Meals on Wheels and United Church Thrift Shop. He was an avid golfer and curler and enjoyed the company of his friends in Sudbury and Renfrew. Al spent many summers at his cottage on Lake Panache, where he enjoyed relaxing on the lake with his family & friends.  A Celebration of Al’s Life will be held on Sunday September 17^th at the RCAF Wing from 1 – 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Renfrew or the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to  the care of the Goulet Funeral  Home, 310 Argyle St. S., Renfrew, Online condolences/donations: www.gouletfuneralhome.com
