Obituary of Joan English

Peacefully at Groves Park Lodge, Renfrew on Saturday May 11, 2024 at the age of 86.  Loving wife of the late Glen English.  Dear daughter of the late Lorne and Rose Warren.  Cherished Mom of the late Daryl, Joanne (Peter), Mark (Tracy), Glenyce  (Shawn) and Jody.  Dear mother in law of Sean Plunkett.  Beloved Nanny of Corbi, Jeffrey, Mitchell (Tiffany), Ryan, Kyle, Bailey, Nathan and Jacob.  Great-nanny of Wade, Cora, Ethan, Aaron, Asher and Wynter. Dear sister of Glen, Brian, Chris and the late Betty.

 Joan and Glen were gracious hosts at the B and B that they owned in their home for years.  Home cooked meals that the family shared together were extremely important to Joan and she loved to host events and gathering.  She loved to do crafts of all kinds, loved to bake, dance, being in nature, especially digging trenches in the spring, being in the sugar bush and gardening.  She also had a great love of travel and along with her dear friend Marilyn was able to fulfill her dream of adventure.  For the last 14 years, she battled dementia with great determination.  We can all say that our Mom and Nanny has left us all better people through her gentle love, strength and example of how to live life. 

At Joan’s request, she has donated her body to science.  Donations in her memory may be made to the Dementia Society. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the Goulet Funeral Home.
