Renfrew Minor Hockey

Obituary of Terrance William Mosco

After a short, courageous battle with cancer, we regretfully lost the cornerstone of our family. Terry was the best son, brother, husband, dad, and poppa we could have ever imagined. Terry passed peacefully in the Renfrew Victoria Hospital on Saturday September 21, 2024 at the age of 68 years. Dear son of Lillian (nee McIntyre) and the late Gerald Mosco, beloved husband and best friend of Sandra (nee Finnerty). Treasured Dad to Jessica (Mark) Denomy and Joshua (Casey) Mosco, and adored poppa to Charlie & Brock Denomy, Myah and Mason Mosco. Dear brother of Bob (Liz), Debbie, Anne Marie, and Andy Mosco. Memorial visitation at the Goulet Funeral Home, 310 Argyle St. S., Renfrew, on Thursday September 26th: 2-4, 6-8 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, Friday September 27th at 10:30 a.m.  In memory of Terry, donations to Renfrew Minor Hockey would be appreciated. If you wish to donate, e-transfers are welcome to treasurer@renfrewminorhockey.ca or by cheque to “Renfrew Minor Hockey Association”.

Terry embodied what every person strives to be: a wonderful husband, caring brother, thoughtful father and very present poppa. He always wanted every day to be a “Wow” day, no matter what it took, and wanted to make sure that everyone was comfortable and having fun before himself. Terry found his passions in coaching, travelling, the outdoors, and was very dedicated to each one. The early days of his coaching career began in Matheson, Ontario, which led him to being a prominent fixture behind the bench in Renfrew Minor Hockey for many years. He then brought his love for hockey to the Timbits program, where he enjoyed working with countless young skaters. After his 26 years at Renfrew Victoria Hospital as a lab technologist, Terry hung up his lab coat and skates and traveled the world with his everything, Sandra. They were fortunate to see the blue waters of Greece, the pyramids of Egypt, swam in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, and had many other amazing adventures together. Although he had travelled the world and witnessed many breathtaking sights, Terry thought nothing was better than looking over a newly shovelled and flooded pond at the family hunt camp. This is where he found his peace. He loved nothing more than watching family, friends and eventually grandkids enjoy themselves either skating till it was dark or eating endless hotdogs near the bonfire.

Terry will forever be missed and remembered as a role model, friend, mentor, and unbelievably hard worker. As he always said, “See ya later alligator, have a big smile crocodile!”
