Obituary of David Keith Lininger

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Keith Lininger after a hard fought bout with cancer at the Ottawa General Hospital on Saturday August 2, 2014. Dave was the son of Laura and the late Jesse Lininger. Beloved husband and best friend of Rebecca (nee Loy) for 47 years. Proud and loving father of Seth (Laura), Peter and Adam. Caring grandfather of Kristen, Katelyn and Mason. Predeceased by older brother Jay (Paula) and survived by two siblings , an older sister Judy and a younger brother Terry (Deanna). He was also a loving uncle to several nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed by many brothers and sisters in law and his mother in law Jean Musser. Dave was born in York, PA and spent his childhood and youth in that same area. After high school he was drafted for service in the United States Army, where his aptitude demonstrated him a gifted recruit for officer candidate school. As a 1st Lt. he served proudly and honourably in the Vietnam War, where at the age of 21 he lead a platoon for a 10 month tour of duty for which he was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Upon completion of his 3 years of military service, he relocated his new family to Mt. St. Patrick, ON where he and his wife built a beautiful house and home from the foundation up. After working in Hi-tech management for 20 years in Renfrew, Kanata and Massachusetts, this American patriot retired 5 years ago to his Ottawa Valley homestead.
