My greatest Spiritual Teacher, my Master, Noreen......I have simply not stopped thinking about you.
I love you, Noreen. Do you hear me? I love you, Noreen.
My life changed the moment I met you, and it continues to do so.
Your heart, your soul, your allness, beyond space and time, the foundation of all my chosen steps.
Your smile, your eyes, your presence, the Sovereignty of the Halls I am honored to be graced by.
You are the Pantheon of Truth, the Summit of Dignity.
I will join you one day. May you be there to greet me.
I love you. I simply love you...so..much.

I was grateful to be able to visit Noreen in hospital before her passing. I had arrived on a Friday after work...I think it was the 19th of February. Noreen said that she had listened to some poetry readings by Olive Phillips who had just left to go home. After reading my card to Noreen, she graciously pointed out the beautiful card that Laurent had given her and said that he was her "rock." Noreen kindly asked how others were doing, and she shared about acts of kindness shown to her. I am grateful to have worked (taught) with Noreen at McNab Public School, and I feel a sense of peace knowing that she is at peaceful rest.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this tribute. Noreen, you have left a void in the Sefa family that no one can fill. When Albert and I came to see you in hospital a few weeks back, you showed much courage and resilience and you had some amazing peace about you. When you told us that you had come to terms with your condition and that you were at peace, I knew that you were on a different plane with God sustaining you on your journey. Thank you for teaching me that it is possible to experience God's peace in the middle of true trauma and deep turbulence. I shall forever treasure this lesson you taught me while visiting you in hospital. Even at your lowest point, you continued to give and give and give. May God keep you in the palm of His hand till we meet again. Thank you for positively influencing my children Ava and Sidney. When they hear the name "Aunt Noreen" they hear kindness, gentleness, excellence and authenticity. Thank you for leaving a piece of you with the Sefa family. We shall forever remember you. Rest in the loving arms of God, Noreen. Rest in peace.
Muriel.

My sincere condolences to Laurent and Noreen's family.
I regret that we lost contact but remember Noreen's kindness and emotional support while studying at Continental Bible College. It touched me to read more about Noreen's later life and her involvement in the life of many, in Belgium and in Canada. Thank you Noreen for your example. The Lord grant you His peace.

I wanted to send my condolences from myself and my husband Lee Ludo and our children
I met Noreen In Brussels, Belgium in 1980's at the Bible College I was a student. I was from Finland, far form home, and remember Noreen organizing a birthday part for me with our friends in her apartment. It was very special as we lived in the dorm. She baked this cake with turquoise/orange frosting. I was very special day. Last couple years I got back in touch with her through Facebook and enjoyed her inspirational posts! I am so sorry for her family for the great loss. We trust she is in heaven where there is no pain or tears.

I met Noreen at church in Brussels, when she was a missionary there, and I was working in the corporate world. We became fast friends and shared so much of our faith and our lives. I have many happy memories of our time together. After we each returned to Canada/America, we lost touch for a while until Noreen "tracked me down" at work and called one day. That was in 1993, and we have been close again ever since.
Noreen was a beautiful, strong, fine woman of faith and a supportive, loving friend. She was very important in my life. I mourn her passing and will always find a special warmth inside when I remember her.

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be
so he put his arms around you
and whispered,
"Come to Me"
With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away
and although we love you dearly
we could not make you stay.
A Golden heart stopped beating
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best

A previous condolence noted that we often don't know all a person has accomplished until we read their final tribute. Noreen surely lived the life the Lord gave her to the fullest, sharing her gifts and His love to many, many people.
2 Timothy 4:7 King James Version (KJV)
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
May the Father's great love be your strength and comfort at this time, and in the days to come.

Wow , when you know some-one , did you really know them . It is really astounding how you do find out more of some-ones life once they pass , when we are alive , who is going to write all about what we do , what we did do , and really only the ones closest to us would know . then ones closest to us learn more and more about us. I am proud to say I knew Noreen Smith , she was quite a person that touched every-ones life she came in contact with , and to think she left a legacy behind of a true Christain who truly cared about the well being of others and believing in them . R.I.P. with God Noreen .Our condolences to your family , Love Cher and Roger Edmonson

My sincere condolences to Laurent and the rest of Noreen's family. Noreen has been a very kind and generous mentor to me as I started my teaching career. She has offered me tons of advice and resources. She even came to Westmeath to help me clean and organize my classroom on her March Break. I'll always appreciate her help.
I knew she was ill when I last saw her a few weeks ago, but did not realize the seriousness of her situation. She will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Noreen's death. Glad I had the chance to speak with her weekly for the last month or so. I feel lucky to have known her for the past 12 years as a friend. She always had something philosophical or thought provoking to to say that made me view my life or issues in general or re-consider my approach in a classroom in a different light. She gave me a lot of good ideas for my classroom, and we could share holistic medicine concepts and philosophy together.
She was the kind of teacher I wish my own son had had...someone open minded and thoughtful with a little different "spin" on life and education. I think she saw things in her students The System often missed.
One of the things she said to me in just about our last conversation, Laurent, was that you had been a GREAT support; she said she couldn't even describe how wonderful you were to her. Thank you.
I will miss her.

Laurent,
My heart goes out to you and all of Noreen's family members.
There are no words that can take away what you are all going through but I know that Noreen was a wonderful woman and the impression that she made on many young lives will live on. The lovely memories of her will always be with you although the most recent times will be difficult to forget for the first months. Eventually and I hope, sooner rather than later, the happy memories will be the forefront ones.
There is nothing that I can say to make this time easier for any of you, other than to say that my thoughts are with you at this sad time and that if there is anything that I can do, please call upon me.
Teresa
