Dear Denise, Danny, Jeff and Family,
The time that I knew your dad I got to know a remarkable man who was outgoing and always had a kind word. He had a real passion for life and always made time for people.
He sure had a way of talking to people and I remember him with his camera at the ready at so many weddings that I've lost count.
So many people owe their wonderful wedding memories to your dad and in typical Phil fashion, he enjoyed taking the pictures and giving so much of himself.
He was a man of hard work but who also knew how to celebrate. I used to see him at so many parties and remember how he loved to dance and my how we laughed at his version of the square dancing song as he mimicked a caller - let's just say his improvisation was colourful and humorous and so like Phil.
He brought so much joy and laughter into the world and with it he brought gentleness and kindness that belied the ruggedness of his hands.
Memory lane takes me back to the times when Phil would regale us with the intricacies of the water-works in the town of Renfrew and how he carried these details in his mind without need of schematics and such.
He may be gone from this earth but his memory is still with us.
My prayers are with each of you.
Rest in Peace Phil.
Your loving cousin,
Paul Lonergan

Dearest Jeff, Danny, Denise and Family,
It is with great sorrow that I heard of Phil's sudden passing.
My memories of Phil are that of a remarkable man with a zest for life, a quick wit and a good joke at the ready. So often we danced and chatted and shared in laughter and had good times.
Phil frequently finished of days gone by and the changes he had witnessed over the years - he was a wealth of information, clever and kind.
Phil was entertaining and animated in his story-telling and could really deliver the punch line with such finesse.
He was a man of great integrity, honesty and compassion.
He was so proud of his family and was quick to sing the praises of the family that he loved so very much.
Phil will be missed by those who knew and loved him because he was a true man among men; a rare breed.
The legacy he leaves behind will not be lost, nor forgotten as long as we honour his memory and the ideals that he imparted and which we share.
Please accept my deepest, most heartfelt condolences at the loss of your beloved father (grandfather, brother...) -my beloved cousin.
With much love, fondness and deepest sympathy,
Your Cousin,
Sue Rekowski-Lonergan

My deepest sympathy to all of Phil's family - he had a heart of gold & was one of the kindest men I have ever met.
