I was saddened to hear of Mack's passing. I first met Mack when I was living and working in Renfrew. I always admired his business skills and will for ever be thankful for his understanding when I was renting from him and out of work.

Gail and family. I just heard about Mac, we are in Florida. Please accept my sincere condolences. I have know Mac since a young boy, working in the Gould gravel pit, when Mac started out with a old tractor, and single axle truck. He will be missed in the community. We all are judged by the shadow we leave when we go. Mac will leave a large shadow.

Renfrew was most fortunate to have a man like Mack that cared so much about the future of our town. He provided the town with quality rentals that people were proud to call home. He was landlord to both myself and my daughter. What he did with the original St. Joe's high School and adjoining buildings was wonderful...and that was just the tip of the iceberg. To the entire Wilson family I would like to extend my deepest condolences on your tremendous loss.
Mack Wilson was good man and I will never forget the one time he personally stood up for me. He was dining at an establishment I worked at. I was being unfairly berated by my boss. Mack stood right up and defended me, explaining to my boss that I was doing my job very well under the circumstances and that he should apologise to me. I did get that apology and a deep respect for Mack Wilson that night. He didn't have to do that for me but he did and I never, ever forgot that. He was a man of integrity and a person my parents considered a friend. My father as a businessman thought very highly of him as did everyone in Renfrew I am sure. May you Rest in Peace now and God bless you and your loved ones.

My sincerest condolences to all of the Wilson Family.
What I most recall was that Mac was a man of his word. Years ago I had a client buy a property from Mac. They agreed to additional appliances as part of the deal. These weren't covered under the Agreement of Purchase and Sale. I asked my client if this additional provision should be added to the Agreement. He said there was no need. He and Mac had agreed to it. I never heard anything more. Mac and my client took care of it.

Mack Wilson will be remembered in the annals of Renfrew’s history, as a father, not only to his children and grandchildren but a father to the Town of Renfrew.
He forged a path that helped our community to grow in all directions, always remembering those less fortunate; his charitable nature knew no bounds.
He created homes and neighbourhoods where people could feel safe and comfortable.
His volunteer contributions as Chair of the Renfrew Industrial Commission, made way for many new businesses and industries. Hundreds have gained employment because of his unstoppable drive.
Much like one of his predecessors, developer and Canadian Senator M. J. O’Brien, Mack lived and worked to give people employment, a safe roof over their heads, recreation and entertainment.
He was an entrepreneur who knew which direction our community should take and he lead us with hope for a better, more prosperous tomorrow.
To Gail and Mack’s family, friends and colleagues, my most sincere condolence. God bless and may his soul rest in peace.
