Stan was the kind of guy who would let ladies play through on the golf course and he did it with a smile. His contributions to our community are too many to count but appreciated none the less. The lives of those he touched are made better and his kind, caring way was enjoyed by all who had the good fortune to know him. Carol Ann, family and friends, please accept my sincere sympathy during this time of loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Saddened to here of Stan's passing. A gentle, caring, lovely man. A great doc, helped many, saved some, inspired others. Some of us leave a mark, Stan did. I will miss him. Carol Ann, I'm in the Texas desert, and I'll get back in touch with you when I get back to Canada.
Love, Rob

Stan was my uncle as his first wife was my father's sister Mary who passed away some years ago. His son Richard is a very close friend (as well as being my cousin) and shares his father's dry sense of humor. Over the years I haven't had as much contact with David but hear of him often through my aunt in Toronto. My wife Elizabeth and I as well as our children extend our prayers to you both.
I have childhood memories of Stan and I particularly recall one fishing trip he went on with my father, my cousin Ron and I and several of my uncles to Algonquin Park when I was about 12. It was May and of course we had a late snowfall and 2 of my uncles caught their limit of fish and empties. Long story short, one fell in the lake and Stan being concerned about hypothermia gave his sleeping bag to him after they fished him out of the water but soon realised the error of his ways when he threw up inside his sleeping bag. Stan took it in stride and I can't recall if he ever went on anymore fishing trips with them. It was talked about for years after that.
Again our condolences to you both and to you Carol Ann.

Carol Ann, please accept my sincere sympathies on the death of Stanley. I knew Dr Simson as a supportive and thoughtful colleague who listened carefully to all referrals I made to him. I also knew him to be a loving spouse to you. Carol Ann, you have journeyed with Stanley over these many years, when you worked side by side, and after his retirement. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Diane

I have known Stan since our medical school days. He was a good friend in med school and later on as we met at Homecomings, I found him to be the same person that I have always known; kind, decent, intelligent with integrity and most of all he was a good and kind friend that I will always remember with such affection.
My warmest regards to Carol on your loss and may you be spared of future tragedy,
Jerry Schneiderman

Sincere sympathy and condolences Carol Ann and family and extended families on the loss of Stan, a very kind and understanding man and certainly a leader in our community bringing forth the issues of mental illnesses. His deep understanding and care and genuine concern for those suffering from such brought hope to many.. Enjoyed many interesting conversations about life in general with Dr.Simson while both he and I worked at RVH. RIP you will be missed and your passing will leave a void in our community.
