Robert’s last week with us.
He came out of the hospital Monday. He felt great. Went to the casino and met his sister there Tuesday. Wednesday we took a load of metal to the scrap yard . Thursday too a load of aluminum to the scrap yard Thursday afternoon we got a call from thrombosis… they wanted Robert to go to Ottawa for blood work Friday. They weren’t happy with how his blood looked. Friday we went for his blood work then to habitat to buy kitchen cupboards then to his uncles for a bowl of soup. Saturday he was pretty tired he slept ALL day. Sunday he was even weaker so I took him to emerge. They said his blood was out of whack again red blood cells way too low and white blood cells way to high. They decided to admit him for hydration and another blood transfusion. I stayed with him until about 5:45 visiting hour we’re done at 5 but they told me I could stay a little longer because they had just brought him to his room . I left told him I’d see him at 1 Monday. Sunday night at 10 they called me said he had spiked a fever and if I wanted to come and sit with him I could. When I got there they told me he had developed pneumonia and a high fever. As soon as I saw him I knew this was it … I called the boys right away but neither one had time to make it in time … I got there around 10 and by 11:55 he had passed

The Angels came way too soon. I wasn’t ready to see you go. My heart is broken; shattered to pieces. I refuse to say good bye but rather I’ll see you later. Be with me Robert and help me through this. I love you Robert I love you so much infinitely. We WILL be together again some day but for now I am with you and you with me; the Angels could never take that from us. I love you

Robert was the most amazing man I have ever known. I can’t remember him ever swearing. I never heard him say a bad thing about anyone

Hello Nicky,
Keith and I are so sorry you lost Robert today. Our hearts hurt for you.
There are so many wonderful memories I have of Robert; He always had an honest and genuine smile when he saw you.. The way when Eddie was a child he would throw him up and kiss on him..He had so much love for his family.. He was such a tease, remember how he used to tease Bev mercilessly? I loved the card games.. he could be pretty sly.. He loves you, everyone will miss him and I am so sorry for that.
Our love and prayers will be focused on you and your family.
Love Kim (Saumure) and Keith

As we say goodbye to you Dad, for the last time, I couldn't help but think of all the things left unsaid. I know we had a lot of rough patches while you taught me to be a man, but I know you did your best. Your love for me shon in the way you threw your self into being the best grandfather my kids could ask for. I never told you how happy I was to see the absolute joy on both your face and those of your grandchildren. I never got to tell you how much I enjoyed spending time with you while we were both men. I never got to say thank you for choosing to be my dad. The last thing I wish I could tell you one last time is, Dad, I love you. Danny Berube
