Two years since you passed. I’m still heartbroken and lost without you. I have built a strong relationship with Clarence and will continue going to see him and call him weekly. He is terrific and I love him dearly. But I miss you, your funnies and your precious pup laugh. Your wonderful sense of humour your dedication and love. Broken heart till we meet again. I love you ♥️

Hello my beautiful friend. I miss you every day since you left us. I often think of nights at Grumpys and that little pub you Peg and I would visit after rollerblading. Thank you for all the memories. I love you. I miss you. I am grateful for you ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I met Darlene at CFB Moosejaw in 1986 Darlene was the kind of friend you could always countdown. Darlene got posted back to Ottawa in 1993 I was posted to CFB Petawawa 1994 in 1996 I met back up with Darlene. It was just like we didn’t miss a beat we had good times bad times and excellent times.. Every Christmas we would go to Darlene‘s for Christmas Eve. Darlene would start shopping for Christmas presents I swear the day after Christmas it was crazy. She would have so many things all packaged up, she had no clue what was in any of the packages. One year she gave me dryer balls now who gives that to to give someone it was crazy we laughed and laughed. Another year she gave me two of the exact same shirt now how that happens I’ll never know again the laughter was on. Then she decided to get a puppy. Darlene and Lane picked out these puppies while I was in Ireland then when I came back they said oh we bought puppies. Needless to say two or three weeks later we drove to Massey which was a 5 Hrs to go pick up two little puppies one for Lane and one for Darlene. Darlene named hers
Mickey because she absolutely thought Mickey Mouse was her hero. Darlene did pretty good there was only a few drawback she would give the dog all the yellow jujubes as she did you like this colour.
would feed the dogs all the yellow jujubes Darlene would do anything for anyone,She was passionate, dedicated and extremely loyal and overall just an amazing human being. She suffered with many diseases but it didn’t stop her, it made her happy to help others. A little girl who grew up in PEI joined the military and did what ever this country asked her of her with pride.
Please take a moment and realize that we need to live every day because tomorrow is never guaranteed. When you part with someone tell them how you feel because you may never have a chance again to say I LOVE YOU and see you tomorrow❤️❤️
MWO Darlene (Dar) Powers (Retired) was a hard working dedicated devoted to the cause Supply Tech. She would go above and beyond to provide service to all that came into contact with her. Ottawa, Alert, Moose Jaw, Ottawa, attached posted to Edmonton (2yrs), then attached posted to Petawawa(3yrs). After 27 yrs she was forced to retired due to a medical condition. Otherwise I am sure she still would be there.
RIP Darlene❤️ You have done your time, MWO Powers Stand Down❤️

So sorry to hear about Dar. During my trips to Renfrew Dar always had a smile on her face and loved dropping off treats. She sure did love her boy Mickey and he loved her. My condolences to her family and to Lane, Celine and my sister Linda. I will be thinking of you all today. RIP Dar

My sincere condolences to Darlene's many friends and families. We graduated high school together, went to the same collage, and years later met in Ottawa. The first thing I remember her saying is "I don't know why it took me so long to get here", she loved her time in the service, her trade, those she encountered throughout her 27 years of service and family. Rest easy Darlene.

A loss of a terrific friend. Great memories of taking out the garbage, snow-blowing the driveway, and other outdoor stuff as Darlene would be out there every time doing the same. Plenty of laughs along the way, indoors and out. A great neighbour and a great friend. My heartfelt condolences to the Powers family and to Lane, Celine, and Linda, and many others, for their loss.

I had the pleasure of serving with Darlene from 1981 to 1987 at CFB Ottawa South. She was the barracks "Mom", a complete sweetheart, the life of any party we had in the barracks. In 1983 I started my Chinook Helicopter Loadmaster course, and Darlene came to my room every night, and sat there with my technical manuals on her knee, to grill me on the technical questions that would be on my final written exam. If it was not for her pushing and prodding me to learn the information by heart I doubt I would have ever passed that exam.
I have spent many years looking for her, and to now find out she only lived an hour from me is heartbreaking.
Go fly with the Angels Darl.......see you again some day!

Momma Dar, you loved me so much. You took me into your life and gave me a loving home. You spoiled me everyday, gave me a safe place to live and brought me the best coats and boots. I was the best dressed dog in the neighbourhood. You gave me many treats and toys to play with but the best thing you gave me was your heart.
I love you Momma Dar. See you when I cross over the rainbow bridge.
Mickers.

The Powers’ Family. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. From the time I met Dar in 2013 I knew she was “special”. She loved both her family and her extended ‘Williams' family deeply. She told me stories of growing up in PEI and and memories spent with the Williams. She stepped in to help Billy and provided comfort when Lane’s mom passed.
During my years with her kindness, laughter, loyalty and a shoulder to lean on were always there. Her compassion and to know when to show up with a coffee or drop off cookies or treats always put a smile on my place. She loved her Mickers dearly and was forever sneaking him a Tim Bit or a yellow JuJu (she didn’t like the yellow ones). His birthdays were filled with ice cream or popsicles. I will continue the tradition.
Dar was my friend and I will have her in my heart always.
Linda Turnbull, Renfrew

Lane and Williams family. My deepest sympathy in the loss of your “sister” and friend Darlene. From the moment I met Dar I knew how much she was loved by your family. The wonderful stories of Dar you shared of all the good times spent with her extended family were amazing. There is a sadness in your hearts which can only be filled with memories and places in your souls that can only be healed by the hands of time.
My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Your loss is deeply felt.
