I was teaching in Marville, France when Nancy was, a few doors away in barracks. She was such a bubbly, happy, interested in everything person. One weekend we went to Holland in her little red car - an MG I think it was. Arriving in Amsterdam in the dark, we began looking for accommodation. We found a nice little road, thinking it would lead us to a hotel. It was perfect. The only problem was, it was a bicycle path! We laughed a lot and were glad there were very few people around. I also saw Nancy twice, years later, as we both were teachers in Renfrew County. She had that lovely smile and we caught up with each other. Nancy had many talents, painting being one. Beautiful! Nancy will be missed by all who knew her. Enjoy all the memories.

I attended Teacher's College in Ottawa with Nancy.
One of my favourite memories was a trip down "East" with Nancy and her cousin Julianne Coulas.
It was a trip of experiences, many of them unbelievable.
I think of that trip and other memories, especially when I admire the painting by Nancy that hangs in my livingroom.
Rest in peace Nancy.

A notable omission about Nancy's varied life and accomplishments is an outstanding one. Nancy earned her pilot's licence when she was teaching in Sault. Ste. Marie and had several flights while she lived there. She was an avid competitor in Scrabble and strove for as many points as possible when playing. Nancy's artist's eye was reflected in her choice of clothing and she loved wearing any of her collection of hats. She was loyal to her friends, new and old, and was happy to share a coffee, a Pepsi and/or Bailey's when they visited. Her attention to her yard, the grass, the flower beds, her trees, her studio, the barn and her home was outstanding. Nancy loved her life. She was a gift to the earth and now she is heaven's gift. Rest in love and joy, dear Nancy. Sincerely, Lavana Town

Nancy and I lived in barracks in Marville, France for two years;her room was right next to mine. I enjoyed her company and she was friends with all. Nancy was a free spirit and so independent. From other mutual friends, I have been able to follow her and all of her accomplishments in Canada. So amazing but not surprising. I am sure Nancy will be missed by many.

MRS SHIRLEY YAKABUSKI posted a condolence

Nancy Bailey was a cousin to the Gerald Yakabuski family (Gerry deceased Apr 27,1984). She was in our life since 1954 when Shirley Peplinski met Gerry Yakabuski in Renfrew with Don Coyne @ Haramis Restaurant on a Sunday afternoon.
Nancy didn't waste the gifts that God gave her with her travelling, teaching, gardening , artistic talent and learning how to play the violin. A true Ottawa Valley girl who demonstrated her many talents and shared her gifts with all of us.
Janet & family will miss Nancy with her energy and hard work with whatever she chose to do. There were no half measures in Nancy's projects.
May our Lord keep Nancy in his arms when she meets her deceased friends and family members in Heaven.
Shirley Yakabuski & family
