Obituary of Mary Nancy Rhoda Bailey

Beautiful, strong and independent until her last days.  Nancy was born in Noranda, Quebec to Julia (Nadobny) and Clifford Bailey.  At the age of five the family moved to Thompsonhill.  She is predeceased by her parents and her brother Edwin (Ted) ( late Bernadette) Bailey.  She will be greatly missed by her sister Janet (Robert Corkett), her six nephews and four nieces, her eighteen great-nieces and nephews and one great-grand-nephew, Her special cousin Nancy Connors (Russ) and all her wonderful friends and neighbours.

Nancy was foremost a teacher in Ontario with exchanges in France and Scotland.  She was a talented artist and business women, a partner in Datum.  Nancy loved the challenge of working outside in her gardens which brought her great joy.  She was a humanitarian spending time in Peru, aiding families from Syria and teaching English to those in need.  She and her fellow violinists entertained the residents of Bonnechere Manor, Quail Creek on a regular basis and at other events.  She always volunteered where needed.  Her love of history and geography lead her to travel the world with a special love attachment to Africa.  She loved to ski and was a volunteer on the ski patrol.  She would look forward to her hiking treks in Europe.  She will be greatly missed but the joy she brought to all of us will stay forever.  A special thank you to all the staff at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital for the loving care and compassion

A visitation will be held at the Goulet Funeral Home, 310 Argyle St S Renfrew on Sunday July 14 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church Renfrew on Monday July 15th at 10:30 am.
